The purpose of this lesson is to educate 8th graders on the electromagnetic spectrum. This is done through guided exploration and hands-on experiments. This lesson embraces inquiry-based learning and uses the 5E Instructional Model. See how this is utilized in the link above.
Science Olympiad is a competition for middle and high schoolers where work in teams to score high in exams across various science fields. During my time in AMS, we were invited to create an exam for the NE Kansas division in meteorology. This exam with the answers is available above.
For my capstone project during my senior year, I had to present a 45 minute presentation over the topic of my choosing. I chose to explore the impact of climate on hurricanes. This presentation was highly technical and relied on the speaker so there are little frills in the slides. Check out the presentation in the link above.
